Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Network Field Technician to join our team. This vital role focuses on leading the Network Field Operations team and managing MDU and network-related projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and within budget. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of MDU based installations, computers and IP networking, applying these skills in varied field operations. Responsibilities include developing and refining internal processes for better workflow, training and mentoring and leading team members, and collaborating with leadership for resource allocation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams and manage MDU and network-related projects, ensuring completion within set timelines and budgets
  • Installation, operation and maintenance of the network
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of computers and IP networking as essential tools in field operations
  • Develop and refine internal processes to improve efficiency and workflow
  • Lead, train and mentor team members, creating comprehensive training materials to facilitate their development
  • Collaborate with DigitalC leadership and vendors for resource allocation and prioritization of local operations
  • Operate various vehicles including cars, trucks, or other equipment
  • Conduct network evaluations, identify coverage gaps, and implement improvement strategies
  • Complete regular reports on project statuses
  • Conduct site audits and site walks for network modernization and expansion
  • Maintain a clean driving record and drivers license 
 

Qualifications/Skills:                                                                                                                                       

  • Minimum of four years in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • At least four years of on-the-job experience in cellular or ngFWA environments
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in software applications like Microsoft Office and Google Suite for workflow management
  • Must be able to work Flexible working hours, including shifts, weekends, on-call duties, and holidays
  • Physically capable of performing tasks like standing, climbing, balancing, and lifting objects up to 75 pounds
  • Must be willing to work in diverse weather conditions and remote locations
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in Ethernet and Fiber networks, including knowledge of relevant equipment and testing methods
  • Expertise in installing, optimizing, and maintaining base station equipment, RF transmitters, and Fiber networks
  • Ability to work independently or in teams, using hand and power tools, and setting up field-based network troubleshooting equipment
